The Silverbird Group, organisers of the Miss Universe Nigeria (MUN) pageant, has announced the 22 contestants who will compete in its 2025 edition. The names were revealed on Tuesday in an Instagram post by the organisers, setting the stage for what promises to be one of Nigeria’s most anticipated beauty competitions.
According to Silverbird, Miss Universe Nigeria is designed to celebrate not just physical beauty but also intelligence, leadership, and social responsibility. Contestants are expected to champion impactful causes such as education, youth empowerment, healthcare, and gender equality, reflecting the evolving role of beauty queens as advocates and cultural ambassadors.
The 22 finalists, representing different states across the country, entered camp on Sunday at the Festival Hotel in Festac, Lagos. During the week-long camp, they will undergo intensive grooming sessions, fitness routines, catwalk training, and mentorship programmes from industry experts. These sessions are aimed at preparing them for the demands of pageantry, public advocacy, and international representation.
Voting has also commenced on the official Miss Universe Nigeria website, giving fans the opportunity to support their favourite contestants as they vie for the crown. Audience votes will play a role in determining who advances at various stages of the competition.
The winner of this year’s pageant will represent Nigeria at the global Miss Universe competition and take on the role of a public goodwill ambassador. In addition to leading advocacy campaigns, she will receive a cash prize, the exact amount yet to be disclosed as well as material gifts, brand endorsements, training opportunities, and paid appearances throughout her reign.
The 2025 Miss Universe Nigeria grand finale will hold on August 30, with a live audience expected in Lagos and a nationwide broadcast across multiple platforms.

Her reign was marked by advocacy for young women’s education and entrepreneurship.
Silverbird says the 2025 edition will raise the bar even higher, with a strong focus on mentorship and community impact. “Miss Universe Nigeria is not just a beauty contest. It is a platform to shape women who can inspire, lead, and create change,” the organisers noted.
With Nigeria’s representative to the global Miss Universe stage at stake, all eyes will be on the Festival Hotel as the contestants undergo rigorous preparation. Fans and supporters are encouraged to participate by voting online and following updates on social media.
The grand finale on August 30 will reveal who takes home the coveted crown and the responsibility of representing Nigeria on the international stage.
