Famous Canadian rapper Drake has officially returned and he did it in a way only Drake could.
In one of the boldest and most ambitious moves of his career, the Toronto megastar shocked the music world by releasing not one, not two, but three full-length albums simultaneously: Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti. Together, the projects deliver a staggering 43 new tracks, signaling a massive creative resurgence from one of hip-hop’s most dominant figures.
The surprise triple release marks Drake’s first major body of work since 2023’s For All the Dogsand arrives after a turbulent chapter in his career, including the highly publicized 2024 rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. Rather than quietly easing back into the spotlight, Drake has chosen to re-enter the conversation with a statement so large it instantly reshapes the music landscape.
At the center of the release is Iceman, widely regarded as Drake’s official ninth studio album. The 18-track project had been building anticipation for months through an elaborate and mysterious rollout campaign that blurred the line between music promotion and performance art. Fans first got a glimpse of the era when Drake launched his Iceman Episode 1 livestream on YouTube earlier in 2025, previewing unreleased songs and teasing the darker, colder aesthetic of the album.
The campaign reached another level when a giant ice block appeared in downtown Toronto. Hidden inside was a folder containing the album’s official release date, a clue eventually discovered by streamer Kishka during the viral promotional event. Shortly after, Drake confirmed the May 15 release date across his social media platforms, sending fans into a frenzy.
Musically, Iceman brings together some of rap’s biggest names, featuring appearances from Future, 21 Savage, and Molly Santana. While fans expected previously previewed tracks like “Which One” and “Dog House” to appear on the album, both songs were surprisingly left off the final tracklist. However, “What Did I Miss?” which was one of the standout previews from Drake’s livestream sessions, officially made the cut.
The second project, Maid of Honour, explores a more collaborative and genre-blending direction. Across 14 tracks, Drake links up with an eclectic lineup that includes Central Cee, Sexyy Red, Popcaan, Iconic Savvy, and Stunna Sandy. The album leans heavily into vibrant energy, global sounds, and melodic experimentation, showcasing Drake’s continued ability to adapt to evolving trends while maintaining his signature style.
Meanwhile, Habibti offers a more atmospheric and emotionally layered experience. The 11-track project includes contributions from PartyNextDoor, Sexyy Red, and Loe Shimmy, further expanding the sonic diversity of the overall release. With its title hinting at Middle Eastern influence and intimacy, Habibti appears positioned as the most experimental and internationally inspired entry of the trilogy.
All three albums arrived immediately after Drake concluded the fourth installment of his Icemanlivestream series on Thursday night. Fans initially expected a traditional album drop, but Drake stunned social media by uploading three separate Instagram posts, each of them unveiling a different project. Within minutes, streaming platforms were flooded with reactions as listeners scrambled to absorb the overwhelming amount of new music. At some point, a lot of fans around the world started complaining that streaming platforms were crashing and apps like Spotify and Apple Music weren’t playing the music.
Beyond the spectacle, the release could have historic consequences for Drake’s legacy. If any one of the albums debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, Drake would secure his 15th chart-topping album, officially breaking his current tie with Jay-Z for the most No. 1 albums by a rapper in Billboard history.
Even more remarkably, industry analysts believe the triple release gives Drake a realistic chance of occupying the top three positions on the Billboard 200 simultaneously. Such an achievement would place him in extraordinarily rare territory. To date, Michael Jackson remains the only artist to have held the top three spots on the chart at the same time. If Drake accomplishes it with three brand-new albums debuting simultaneously, he would become the first artist ever to achieve that feat in a single release week.
Whether viewed as a comeback, a victory lap, or a declaration of dominance, Drake’s triple-album launch has already become one of the most talked-about moments in modern music history. And if the early reactions are any indication, the Iceman era may only be getting started.
